HUD offers homes at HALF prices to Firefighters and Teachers etc.

According to this article, the HUD is offering homes at HALF the price to certain government employees including firefighters, police officers, emergency medical techs, and best of all teachers, with a program called "GOOD NEIGHBOR NEXT DOOR". If you qualify, you only need to pay half the appraised price. The catch is that these homes are located in "revitalization areas", which means not-so-good neighborhoods. And you need to live there for minimum 3 years.
